Calendar and meetings
Calendar and meetings
Lettuce can mirror your calendar into the vault, so your days, meetings, and the people in them become notes you can link, annotate, and prep against — all in plain Markdown.
Calendar mirror
Your macOS Calendar already bridges Google, iCloud, and Exchange accounts. Lettuce mirrors it into a Calendar/ folder — one note per day — giving you an agenda you can annotate inline.
Enable it in Settings → Calendar (a one-time permission prompt). Mirroring runs while Lettuce is open.
Write-back (optional)
With write-back on, the day note isn’t just a read-only mirror:
Edit an event line to update the real calendar event.
Add a line to create a new event.
Write-back is conflict-safe and never deletes events. Recurring and all-day events are read-only — edit those in Calendar itself.
Detail notes
Wikilink an event in a day agenda to promote it to a dedicated note. Lettuce creates Calendar/Events/<title>.md, a place to hold the agenda, notes, and outcomes for that single meeting — and it backlinks to the day it came from.
Recurring → rolling notes
A recurring series gets one rolling note instead of a note per occurrence. Each time the meeting recurs, Lettuce prepends a new dated section at the top and carries unchecked - [ ] action items forward from the previous occurrence — so nothing falls through the cracks between weekly syncs.
Meeting prep
Detail and rolling notes list attendees as [[wikilinks]]. That connects the meeting to each person’s People/CRM note, so you arrive with context on who’s in the room. Combined with the carried-forward action items and the visible history of prior occurrences, the note becomes a genuine prep surface — open it before the call and you have agenda, people, and open items in one place.
Today note
Your Today note (the daily note) brings it together: opened fresh, it transcludes the day’s agenda above a live rollup of tasks due today (and overdue), with room to write below. It’s a real note — see Core concepts/10 Tasks and to-dos.
Mac: the Today button in the toolbar, or File ▸ Open Today’s Note (⌥⌘D).
iPhone (preview): the sun button in Notes. (The iPhone app is in preview — not yet on the App Store.)
The morning briefing
Your default Morning digest doesn’t make a separate note — it folds a short AI briefing (what changed across the vault, plus a gentle suggestion) into a ## Briefing section at the top of your Today note, above the agenda and what’s due. So one note is your whole morning, and the toolbar’s Open button shows a dot when a new briefing has landed. The merge never touches your own ## Notes. Named, folder-scoped digests still write their own dated note. See the automation docs to schedule it.
